About Us
At the Bellefonte Center for Children and Families, we pride ourselves in being able to provide exceptional services to clients in a family context resulting in the improvement of most problems in a short period. Our decades of experience in providing therapy and training future generations puts us in a unique position to help you and your family.
The Bellefonte Center for Children and Families 2.0 is focused on assisting families deal with a wide range of issues and challenges. Whether it be dealing with the fallout of the Pandemic, struggles with parenting, managing family transitions (e.g., separation, divorce, relocation), or couple troubles that arise at times. Drs. Bill and Yulia also offer marital/couple coaching for those partners who are still very much committed to their relationships but would like to get a “check-up” and improve their relationships.
Awards & Recognition
Dr. Bill is known nationally and internationally for his expertise in co-parenting and training, clinical supervision, and the use of technology in family therapy. He has presented around the world, including Canada, Argentina, Panama, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Iceland, England, Ireland, Scotland, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Slovenia. Dr. Bill has over 50 publications to his name and serves on editorial boards of the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy and the Journal of Family Therapy. He has also served on the Delaware Board of Mental Health and Chemical Dependence for 9 years, including a president and on the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Ethics Committee, serving as Chair his last year. As a member of the International Family Therapy Association, Dr. Bill has been Treasurer, Chair of Congresses and New Media, and the facilitator of the Supervision Track at the World Family Therapy Congress.
Our Experience
After growing up in Claymont, Delaware, and attending the University of Delaware, Dr. Bill received in Masters’ Degree and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland and Kansas State University, respectively. After his doctoral program in Kansas, he slowly made his way back to Delaware, first through Ohio where he was a professor at Bowling Green State University and then to the Washington DC area where he served a Director of Research for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). In 2006, Dr. Bill moved back to Delaware where he has held a number of academic, clinical, and consulting positions, including at Drexel, NorthCentral, and Wilmington Universities, the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center, and Connections Community Support Programs, Inc.
Dr. Yulia’s journey as a psychotherapist formally started at Geneva State University in Switzerland and brought me to the United States to complete her Master’s and Doctoral degrees. Since then she has worked in a variety of clinical settings providing individual, couple, and family therapy. Dr, Yulia has lived and worked in five different countries and provided therapy in three languages (English, French, and Russian). Being a University professor and a researcher, she has had multiple opportunities to enhance her skills and discover best practices to help a variety of families.
